The value of the Kingdom's base unit of currency, the MU, is tied directly to the London "P.M. Fix" price of 1 ounce of .999 fine gold bullion (AU).

1 Troy oz AU = 480 grains - so - 1 MU = 1/480 oz AU

In other words, if the London P.M. Fix for Gold is $ 1,535.50 (US). . .
the value of the MU = 1535.50/480 = 3.1989583 or 1 MU = $ 3.20 (US)

The MU is further subdivided into four (4) lesser coin denominations (All US values based on example above):

1/2    MU = $ 1.60 (US) [Approximate Physical Size: US Half-Dollar]
1/10   MU = $  .32 (US) [Approximate Physical Size: US Quarter]
1/20   MU = $  .16 (US) [Approximate Physical Size: US Nickel]
1/100 MU = $  .08 (US) [Approximate Physical Size: US Dime]
